Malout, January 9

The team of Jarnail Singh, AAP candidate from Lambi, today filed a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. The members have alleged that SAD leaders in Lambi are distributing post-dated cheques of Rs 15,000 and Rs 60,000 to the people for house repair and house construction respectively. It should be stopped with immediate effect, they said.

The complainant, Manmeet Singh, Jarnail’s relative from Delhi who has come for the election campaign here, said, “We have also appealed to the Election Commission to search the houses of SAD leaders like Dyal Singh Kolianwali, Tejinder Singh Middukhera and Kulwinder Singh ‘Kaka’. Some cheques are kept there. This is a clear violation of the model code of conduct.”

Besides, AAP vice-president Narinder Singh ‘Naati’ has alleged that some people have been following him in a car for the past few days.

“I have complained to the Chief Electoral Officer that some people have been following me for the past few days. If there is any attack on me, legal action should be taken against the SAD leaders of this area.

“We have also lodged a complaint against a BDPO who is posted in his home district Muktsar,” Narinder Singh claimed.

Later, Sumeet Jarangal, District Election Officer, Muktsar, said, “Jaswant Singh, BDPO, Malout, has been transferred to Arniwala in Fazilka district.”
