A Rs 15-crore water supply scheme will be launched to supply water to remote villages, including Chamiyana, Karada and Kasiri Mahadev, in Patlandar area of the district.
This was stated by Rajinder Rana, Vice-Chairman of the Disaster Management Authority, while addressing a public gathering at Dabadiyana Riah village after inaugurating a overhead water tank of 20,000 litres capacity constructed at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh.
He said the villages in over 12 gram panchayats would be benefited once the Karada Water Supply Scheme got operational. He said providing sufficient drinking water to each house was the priority of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
He said even the replacement of old water supply pipes was done on a war footing to avoid water scarcity in summer. He said the Sujanpur constituency had witnessed an unparallel development in the current tenure of the government. He said it was unfortunate that despite having former chief minister PK Dhumal from Sujanpur district it was ignored and development came to a halt.
He said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had announced development works worth over Rs 300 crore for the constituency. He said people of the constituency were waiting for the coming Holi festival when the CM might shower his blessings on the area.
