Kangra, April 21

The New Pension Scheme (NPS) Employees’ Federation today urged the state government to implement the old pension scheme in the state instead of the new pension scheme.

Sanjeev Kapoor, Kangra district senior vice-president of the federation, today demanded the rollback of this new pension scheme. He said the new pension scheme was totally anti-employee. He said the NPS policy was putting the employees in a dock in which their hard-earned money was at stake. He said under this scheme an employee felt cheated when he could not get his own money after his retirement. He said an employee retired under the new pension scheme was struggling for his own money after retirement.

He said in Himachal average regular service of an employee was about 20-25 years which included contract period and condition of 2 years for grade pay after regularisation and these things exert financial pressure in the minds of employees.

The federation demanded that the state government should implement the old pension policy which was rolled back after 2003.
