More than 24 hours before Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu’s visit to Chandigarh railway station to flag off eight projects, the movement of traffic in front of the railway station main entrance gate has been closed by putting barricades, leaving people inconvenienced.

Passengers have been asked to use one way for entry and exit of the vehicles. During a visit to the station in the morning the passengers who had to board the Shatabdi said it is strange that the minister who is coming to announce projects to facilitate commuters had himself become a reason of inconvenience.

A senior citizen said it is surprising that the commuters were not allowed to enter from the main gate by giving the excuse that the railway authorities were preparing for the event.

Station superintendent GS Waraich said the movement has been restricted owing to security reasons.
