Chandigarh, March 26
In order to highlight the issues of society residents, members of the Housing Societies Residents Welfare Federation today held a protest adjoining Young Dwellers Society, Sector 49, here.
Presidents and officer-bearers from different societies took part in the dharna, which was attended by around 300 persons in which problems of societies were discussed at large.
Prahlad Bhagat Vasudeva, general secretary of the federation, said the federation had proposed for share-wise/flat-wise conveyance deed to the administration, but the process of chunk of land adopted by the Administration would make the process lengthy and more expensive. He stressed to make the process simple and helpful so that interested persons could take benefits and those not interested at this stage due to some reason or the other may not be compelled unnecessarily.
Press secretary Rakesh Chopra stressed that relaxations given by the Finance Department for the purpose of obtaining completion certificates to the societies should also be considered for sanction of revised plans to the societies. — TNS
