Dehradun, October 20

Lt Col GS Rawat (retd), state president of the Uttarakhand Purva Sainik and Ardh Sainik Sangathan, today said the Union Government should take immediate steps to remove anomalies in the one rank one pension (OROP) scheme. Pension to retired defence personnel and family pension should be judiciously given to the beneficiaries. He stated this while addressing mediapersons here.

Rawat alleged that the Union Government was indulging a propaganda by claiming that the one rank one pension had been sanctioned, but on the contrary, the basic demand of judicious distribution of pension had not been fulfilled.

Rawat said the anomalies arising due to the implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission should be removed. Retired jawans and other personnel below officer’s rank were major sufferers, he said. — TNS
