Snatching incidents in Z’kpur

Tribune News Service

Zirakpur, November 24

The rise in snatching incidents have gripped residents of Swastik Vihar Society on Patiala Road in fear and insecurity.

The residents claimed that in a matter of two weeks, four snatching incidents had been reported in the society but the local police are yet to take an action.

The general secretary of Swastik Vihar Resident Welfare Association, Gulsan Bhasin, alleged that the police authorities have turned a blind eye towards their repeated presentations.

The police lodged a DDR in a theft case even after the society persuaded the case for over seven days, claimed Bhasin.

While the criminals are roaming free, the police are in a deep slumber, he alleged.

The association has demanded a regular police patrolling of the area. The Superintendent of Police, Dera Bassi, Anil Sharma, was not available for comments.
