Rain, snow lash state

Rain lashed plain areas while snow was witnessed in the higher areas today.

Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, Chakrata, Ukhimath, Auli and Champawat were covered with snow.

Director, state meteorological centre, Anand Sharma said cold wave conditions had returned once again due to western disturbances. He said the weather would remain the same till Monday.

He forecast light to moderate rain or snow at many places, especially in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh. He said heavy rain or snow would occur at isolated places, especially in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh.

Meanwhile, Dehradun residents faced erratic power supply due to stormy weather conditions.
