Punjab resident found dead in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A 40-year-old resident of Punjab was found dead in Kulgam district of south Kashmir today, police said.

Body of Bodhraj of Hunuman Chowk (Punjab) was recovered from an open field near village Chattabal-Chehlan, 70 kms from here, a police spokesman said.

He said police has started investigations under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death.

The body has been sent for medico-legal formalities, the spokesman said.

In another incident, the spokesman said a labourer drowned in river Jhelum while extracting sand at Barsoo near Awantipora, 32 kms from here, last evening.

The body of the deceased, Fayaz Ahmad Wani of Banihal, was fished out and handed over to next of his kin for last rites, he said. -PTI
