SONEPAT, MARCH 3

Youth Congress activists led by Devender Kadyan, state general secretary of the all-India Youth Congress, took out a march in the town to protest the hike of Rs 86 in the price of non-subsidised LPG refill.

Raising slogans against the BJP government, the protesters started their march from the local PWD rest house on Railway road and reached Subhash Chawk. They also burnt a 12-foot-high effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion.

Kadyanasked the government to withdraw the hike in the interest of poor people. He also announced that the Youth Congress would organise similar protests against this hike in every part of the country. — OC
