Preparations for Prez visit reviewed

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat today presided over a meeting to review traffic and security arrangements ahead of President Ramnath Kovind’s visit to the state. The CM directed the SSP (Traffic) to prepare a traffic diversion plan so that the general public was not inconvenienced due to VIP movement in Dehradun.

Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat today presided over a meeting to review traffic and security arrangements ahead of President Ramnath Kovind’s visit to the state. The CM directed the SSP (Traffic) to prepare a traffic diversion plan so that the general public was not inconvenienced due to VIP movement in Dehradun.

He also directed officials of the Public works department to repair roads and Jal Sansthan to immediately repair drinking water pipelines. 

The Chief Minister also asked the Mussoorie-Dehra Development Authority to undertake beautification work at the places identified. 

He also expressed resentment over slow pace of work by the National Highway Authority of India and directed the body to complete road construction work. 

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary S Ramaswamy directed officials to complete all the preparations linked to the President’s visit on time. He said no complacency would be tolerated in this regard. 

Secretaries Radhika Jha, Amit Singh Negi and Arvind Singh Hayanki, Additional Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, Dehradun district magistrate SA Murugeshan and SSP Dehradun Nivedita Kukreti were present at the meeting held today.
