Last checked, television actor Sourabh Raaj Jain was shooting at Nada Sahib, Fort Ramgarh, Sukhna Lake for a crime series. Exactly a year later he’s back to Kalka hills, having already shot at Katra, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Vaishno Devi and Banaras. With Life OK’s faith-based show Bhakton Ki Bhakti Mein Shakti, the television actor is back to mythology, after his popular stint as Lord Krishna in Mahabharata.

“The show is about believing in the power of believing! With this one I take the viewers to several real-life-inspired stories, folk tales and even dated stories on how people overcame the impossible just with their faith intact. That faith could be in any form of God or any kind.” The show is based on the stories of devotees who have won impossible battles of life with their only weapon — utmost faith in God.

My battles, my faith

All of us have come across several situations in life when nothing seems to work. It’s that when faith makes its presence felt and overcomes the impossible. Often our first brush with faith as children is during exam and results time. On a serious note, I never thought of becoming an actor, but faith has kept me going and I’ve survived all these years.

Clear choice

My father was a businessman; my mother is a lawyer and my wife, a software engineer. While growing up only, I decided that I didn’t want a 9-5 job. I am really bad at money matters, so it can’t be business or finance and I didn’t want to be a lawyer because I’ve seen my mother slog. So, here I am.

Telly talk

I wish they gave into the pressures of content more than TRP’s. It would be nice if we didn’t have characters being introduced or generation leaps without any rhyme or reason.

Mother’s Day

I completed my education, which is both my graduation and post-graduation, only to please and assure my mother (laughs). I have not thought of anything yet, so I am not going to say anything just for the heck of it. But I will definitely surprise her!
