Power at illegal construction site cut

SOLAN: District Magistrate (DM) Rakesh Kanwar today gave interim orders to Tehsildar Kasauli to ensure that no construction was underway on a site measuring 492 bigha at Jaol village in Kasauli tehsil where large-scale construction was under way despite the case of benami transaction being pending.

District Magistrate (DM) Rakesh Kanwar today gave interim orders to Tehsildar Kasauli to ensure that no construction was underway on a site measuring 492 bigha at Jaol village in Kasauli tehsil where large-scale construction was under way despite the case of benami transaction being pending. The DM said since a case of benami transaction pertaining to this case was pending in his court, no construction could be carried out on the plot.

He said complaints of construction had been received. Following this, tehildar Kasauli has been directed to visit the spot and stop all construction work on the site. It was found that six power connections apart from a water connection had been issued. Executive Engineer of the HP State Electricity Board and the IPH Department were directed to ensure that these were disconnected and compliance report was submitted within seven days.

SDO HP State Electricity Board Limited Ashok Kumar said they had disconnected temporary power connections which were issued for undertaking construction work. — TNS
