Policy for labour employment ready, says Agnihotri

The State Labour and Employment Department has formulated an elaborate action plan to give boost to the growing industrialization in the state, said Industries, Labour and Employment Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. He was presiding over a state-level review meeting of the Labour and Employment Department at Bathu village of Haroli segment.

The minister said the State Labour Inspection Policy for bringing in transparency as regards labour employment in the local industrial units has been formulated. He directed the departmental officers to ensure that the interests of the labour class are protected and the industrial growth continued unhampered.

Agnihotri informed that the process of renewal of registration under the Factories Act was underway and 2,650 industrial units had got their registrations renewed. He said under the ongoing skill development programme, 1.15 lakh youth had been provided industries linked vocational trainings in different trades at an expenditure of Rs 82.86 crores.

The minister said all district employment exchanges were being developed into model career centres where applicants will have internet connectivity, online submission of applications and Wi Fi facilities, besides the services of trained career counselors.

Principal Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department RD Dhiman, Labour Commissioner Abhishek Jain, Joint Commissioner Labour SK Kaushal and Assistant Controller of Finance and Accounts KC Verma were also present at the meeting.
