Uttarakhand DGP BS Sidhu said today that strict instructions had been given to police officers to intensify security measures in the state. He said security measures had already been stepped up.

At the police headquarters, the DGP said private boarding schools should themselves take effective steps to intensify their security system. He said different teams of police officers were working to nab absconding offenders. Later, a delegation of villagers led by Ranjeeta, Block Pramukh, development block Sahaspur, felicitated the DGP after the police successfully found a two-year-old boy, Akash, son of Lal Ram, resident of Nanka-ki-Chowki, who went missing in November. — TNS
