Sirsa, February 13

The police have given a clean chit to three teachers of Chaudhary Devi Lal University who were booked for criminal intimidation and deterring a public servant from performance of duty on the complaint of a DSP of the CBI in July last year.

The police have filed a cancellation report in a local court in a case registered under Sections 353, 353, 186 and 506 of the IPC against university teachers Rajneesh Ahlawat, Mukesh Garg and Satyawan Dalal, all assistant professors in management, law and public administration departments, respectively. CBI DSP Neelam Singh had lodged an FIR against the three teachers on July 22.

She, along with some other CBI officials, was camping in Sirsa for a probe ordered by the Punjab and Haryana HC on a petition filed by Garg. The CBI team had summoned the teachers for questioning in connection with the probe on July 22.

Later, the DSP had given written complaints to the police as well as university VC Dr Radhe Shyam Sharma, accusing the teachers of criminal intimidation and use of force to stop her team in conducting the inquiry. According to police sources, the allegations against the three teachers were not found correct during investigation and hence a cancellation report has been filed with the court.
