This can be gauged from the fact that the police have pressed into service a brigade of officers to get a lead in the case. The ASP, DSPs of various wings and SHOs of various police stations today visited the jewellery store to offer assistance in the ongoing investigation.

While some police officials called it team work, others claimed that they visited the spot as a major robbery had taken place.

Those who visited the spot today included ASP (East) Guriqbal Singh Sidhu, DSP (Woman Cell) Anjitha Chepyala, DSP (Cyber Cell) Rashmi Yadav Sharma, the in-charge of the cyber cell, Inspector Harinder Sekhon, the SHO of the Sector 26 police station, Inspector Chiranji Lal, the SHO of the Mauli Jagran police station, Inspector Baldev Kumar, the SHO of the Sector 19 police station, Maninder Singh, the SHO of the woman police station, Inspector Gurjit Kaur, the SHO of the IT Park police station, Jaspal Singh, the SHO of the Sector 31 police station, Inspector Jasbir Singh, the in-charge of the Sector 24 police post, Sub-Inspector Rohtash Kumar, and Sub-Inspector Jaswinder Kaur.

A team of the crime branch, including Inspector Gurmukh Singh and Inspector Ranjit Singh, also visited the store. The officers visited the store in a span of a few hours and questioned the store employees. The officers were seen examining the spot individually. An SHO said they visited the jewellery store to analyse the spot.

The area falls under Central Subdivision (the charge is with DSP Satish Kumar) and the Sector 17 police station, having Inspector Uday Pal as the SHO.
