Chrysanthemum exhibition begins at PU

The Chrysanthemum Exhibition started on Thursday at the Prof RC Paul Rose Garden, Panjab University (PU). Vice-Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover inaugurated the exhibition. PU Dean University Instructions Prof AK Bhandari presided over the function. PU Registrar Col GS Chadha (retd) was the guest of honour. As many as 190 varieties of chrysanthemum and 2,900 potted plants are on display at the exhibition. The VC appreciated the exhibits displayed at the venue and the efforts made by the PU Horticulture Division. Such initiatives helps us in getting closer to the nature, he added. It was also attended by Dean Research Lalit Kumar Bansal, Dean Student Welfare Prof Navdeep Goyal, Dean Student Welfare (W) Prof Nandita Singh, Controller of Examination Prof Parvinder Singh, Director Public Relation Vineet Punia and Executive Engineer RK Rai and PU Divisional Engineer (Horticulture) Anil Thakur. Fellows and eminent academicians of the PU, including IS Chadha, Prof Ronki Ram, Prof Emanuel Nahar, Prof Dinesh Kumar, Prof Keshav Malhotra, Prof AS Ahluwalia, and wardens, presidents of teaching and non-teaching unions were among others present.

 

Dr Ajaz Hussain to deliver oration today

 

Executive Director of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education (NIPTE), USA, and former president of Wockhardt Dr Ajaz Hussain would deliver the Panjab University (PU) Pharmaceutical Sciences Oration at the Golden Jubilee Hall on PU Campus on Friday. The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is organising the oration. Dr Hussain would speak on contemporary topic “Educating the Next Generation Pharmacists for Industry”. PU VC Prof Arun Kumar Grover would preside over it. — TNS
