Physically challenged persons create ruckus

KARNAL: Some physically challenged persons along with their attendants today created a ruckus at the Civil Surgeon’s office alleging that hospital staff had refused to consider their applications for the medical certificate.

Some physically challenged persons along with their attendants today created a ruckus at the Civil Surgeon’s office alleging that hospital staff had refused to consider their applications for the medical certificate.

Bimla and her son Raju, residents from Majra village, said every Wednesday, a medical board conducted a check-up of physically challenged persons. They alleged that no staff member was present at the hospital for check-up today.

Other applicants alleged that even on several occasions earlier, they were forced to return dejected. They raised slogans against the state government and the health authorities.

However, Dr SL Verma, Civil Surgeon, pacified them and took their applications. He said the candidates had come late, but their applications had been accepted.
