A team of PGIMER officials led by Prof KLN Rao, which had come here to ascertain the feasibility of a satellite centre, returned without any tangible outcome due to “confusion and lack of coordination” among various state departments. The centre was sanctioned three years ago during the UPA regime.

While the state government has been claiming that land has been transferred to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the centre, the PGIMER officials said they had no information about it. “Neither our engineering department nor administrative department has received any such information,” said Rao, adding that there was some “communication gap”. Not amused by the status of the location earmarked for the project, Rao said the proposed land was situated at two places connected by ten feet wide road and some structures already existed on the same. “We will deliberate and ascertain the feasibility of the setting up a hospital here within the next few days” said Rao, who was accompanied by doctors and engineering officials. Surprisingly, no senior official was deputed to accompany the team to the site today to clarify their doubts.
