An unidentified person was killed in a road accident at Khanna on Sunday late evening. The pedestrian was reportedly killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him near Atwal Palace. The victim died on the spot.

Khanna DSP JS Cheema said they had registered a case in this regard against the unidentified driver of the vehicle and were inquiring into the matter. He said the body of the deceased was kept at the mortuary of Civil Hospital, Khanna, for identification, but the body was still unidentified as no one had come forward for his identification. 

He said after waiting for 72 hours, the body would be cremated by the authorities concerned. — OC
