Over 20,000 appear for NDA exam

More than 20,000 candidates appeared for the National Defence Academy (NDA) entrance examination held by the Union Public Service Commission at 20 centres here today. 

A total of 4,00,813 candidates registered for the entrance exam for 375 seats at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune. 

The exam was held in two shifts: Paper-I (mathematics) and paper-II (general ability) of two-and-a-half hours each with a total weightage of 900 marks.

The exam is conducted in April and August every year. The candidates who have passed Class XII or appearing for the same are eligible to take the exam. The examination was held for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA and the 98th Indian Naval Academy course commencing from December.

UPSC trainer Kunal Singh said the number of aspirants had gone up for the past three years. “Chandigarh is the land of defence officers who continue to inspire youngsters for serving the motherland,” he said. — TNS
