Over 18 injured in bee attack

A swarm of honeybees attacked people near the Court Complex here today leaving at least 18 persons writhing in agony, many of whom had to be rushed to the Civil Hospital and some private infirmaries. 

Many commuters even fell off their bikes and scooters when attacked. Darshana Devi, an old woman, and Vishawpreet Singh, who were injured in the attack, said suddenly, a swarm of bees attacked the passersby and shopkeepers in the area. The honeybees seemed to be everywhere on the Court Complex road. 

Sources in the hospital said, “Some people reached here with multiple stings. The victims were discharged after preliminary treatment. Their condition was stable. — OC
