Over 1 lakh visit Kangra temple

KANGRA: More than 20,000 pilgrims today paid obeisance at the Bajjreshwari temple here in connection with the Maha Ashtami of the Chaiter Navratra taking the number of pilgrims who visited the shrine during this festival to 1 lakh.

More than 20,000 pilgrims today paid obeisance at the Bajjreshwari temple here in connection with the Maha Ashtami of the Chaiter Navratra taking the number of pilgrims who visited the shrine during this festival to 1 lakh.

Pilgrims started thronging the temple at 3 am. They were seen standing in long queues to have a glimpse of the goddess in the form of pindies.

Temple officer Pawan Badiyal said Sat Chandi Mahayagiya, which started on March 28, would conclude tomorrow at 9.30 am with pooran ahooti. Pilgrims offered gold, silver and cash to the tune of nearly 3 lakh. During the last eight days more than Rs 20 lakh was offered by pilgrims. — OC
