Organisations burn Pak flags, pay tributes to Uri martyrs

Activists of the ABVP today burnt the flag of Pakistan in protest against Uri terror attack in which 18 soldiers lost their lives. The ABVP activists gathered at the Polytechnic Chowk here and raised slogans against Pakistan.

Several social organizations, including Vande Matram Dal and Gau Raksha Dal, took out a candlelight march in the city to pay homage to the Uri martyrs. They also burnt the flag of Pakistan at the Jagadhri Gate and raised slogans against Pakistan. They urged the Union government to teach a lesson to Pakistan.

The Anti-Terrorist Front of India also organised a meeting to pay tributes to the martyrs. Front president Viresh Shandilya urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strict action against Pakistan. He said that the bus service between Lahore and Delhi should also be terminated.

Many other social organisations and educational institutions also paid tributes the Uri martyrs. Members of the Ambala Municipal Corporation also paid homage to the departed souls in a meeting today.

Kaithal: Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal here today organised a procession to protest the killing of 18 soldiers in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists from Pakistan.

Raising slogans against Pakistan, the burnt the Pakistani flag at the Pehowa Chowk. Led by Chander Bhan Mittal and Narinder Kumar, the activists paid tributes to the martyrs and assured the bereaved families of their support. The protesters wanted that the government should take strict action and a befitting reply to Pakistan.

They expressed their anguish over the cowardly act in which innocent soldiers were killed in sleep. The activists also urged all political parties to extend support to the Centre so that it could take appropriate action against the perpetrators of the crime.
