Chandigarh, February 1

Ontario’s 25th Premier Kathleen Wynne will run with Milkha Singh, a former Indian sprinter known as the Flying Sikh, at Sukhna Lake on February 3 (7.15 am). Wynne will join Milkha on Wednesday after the latter invited her to the city. Wynne is in India on a trade boosting mission and will arrive in Chandiagrh at Tuesday evening.

The former sprinter had invited Wynne to the city during a visit to Canada last month. “Wynne and I will promote the need for a healthy lifestyle among the residents on February 3 at around 7.15 am. The event is being held to introduce the city to her. Last month, Wynne expressed her wish to run with me and after she confirmed her India visit, I invited her to Chandigarh. She happily accepted my invitation,” said Milkha Singh. He added, “I am also inviting other runners from the city to join us for the noble cause. Besides being a good human being, Wynne is a sports lover and it will be a great honour for me to run with such a person,” said Milkha.
