On way to Manali, 20 TN tourists hurt in mishap

More than 20 tourists were injured, eight of them seriously, when a private bus (UP 17 T 9191) carrying 40 persons overturned near Galog on the Shimla- Manali highway, 25 km from here, this evening.

The tourists from Tamil Nadu were on their way to Manali from Shimla, when the accident occurred. Four seriously injured persons have been shifted to the IGMC while four more have been referred to Shimla, police sources said.

The other injured persons were shifted to hospital at Dhami and their condition is state to be stable. The passengers complained that the 108 ambulance took about one hour to reach the spot, delaying the rescue operations.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh visited the injured persons at Dhami hospital and said that all the injured would be shifted to Shimla and given treatment free of cost.
