Education a must for development: Kaul Singh

“Education plays an important role in the development,” said Health and Family Welfare Minister Kaul Singh Thakur while presiding over annual prize distribution function of DAV Centenary Public School here today.

He said the DAV institutes were performing their social duty well by providing quality education to students in the country. Several students after getting education from DAV institutes had attained high positions in several fields.

He exhorted teachers to provide moral education to the students along with the subject knowledge so that they could become a responsible citizen in the future.

Thakur said along with studies, the students should take part other activities for overall development of their personalities so that they were able to face challenges in their lives.

He said the state government was spending Rs 4,284 crore on education in the current financial year. The aim was to provide quality education to students near their houses,

He said in the two-year tenure, the state government had opened 15 colleges.

The minister also condemned the brutal terror attack on students in a Pakistan school.

Students performed various cultural programmes on the occasion.
