Kisan Bhawan, sector 35, Chandigarh bears a Rajasthani look, bandhani drapes decorate the entrance, step in and there are stalls selling famous Jaipur stuff. Day one of the exhibition, vendors are still opening their packs and buyers are already there aiming to grab the best of the pick. Here are the things that caught our fancy…

Fabric fiesta

Well, when Jaipur’s famous Gulab Chand is here, one has got to add to one’s cotton collection. The soft malmal is the best bet to beat the heat and there are colours and patterns galore. Monochromes will rule this summer too says the style hawks and here you find them in plenty. You can buy a whole set with duppatta starting at Rs850.

Bandhani bling

Colourful is an understatement for Rajasthani bandhani and lahriya. To suit the city tastes, the bright suits, saris and duppattas are further embellished with zari, gottapatti and tassels. Shares Pintu from Jaipur, “Whenever we come to Chandigarh, we bring our fanciest stuff. People here like bling and we cater to their needs.” —TNS
