NSS volunteers felicitated

HAMIRPUR: Twenty-five NSS volunteers of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Bir Bagehra, have been adjudged best performers of the year.

Twenty-five NSS volunteers of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Bir Bagehra, have been adjudged best performers of the year. They have been honoured for serving people during a seven-day special camp at one of the adopted villages Upper Bir Bagehra of the district.

Zila parishad member Gauran Devi said the NSS volunteers urged the villagers to keep their surroundings clean.

She said that other students should also serve society. Students who performed well in cultural activities, science quiz and sporting events were also felicitated. Principal of the school JP Zear read out the detailed annual report. Among others present included BDC member Lata Sharma, pradhan of Bir Bagehra gram panchayat Rajni Bala, school management committee head Gian Chand and NSS programme officer Dr Devinder Singh Banyal. — OC
