Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday reiterated that the state did not have a single drop of water to spare for any other state and that farmers were facing acute shortage because of the fast-receding water level. “Not a single drop can be allowed to flow through the SYL canal,” he said here. Badal, who returned from the US on Monday, further said political parties and leaders in Punjab and Haryana should refrain from indulging in gimmicks for cheap publicity at the expense of peace in Punjab. “The construction of the canal cannot be allowed at any cost,” he added. tns
