Nine officers join ITBP mainstream

MUSSOORIE: Nine new officers joined the mainstream of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in a colourful passing-out parade and attestation ceremony held at the ITBP grounds here today.

Nine new officers joined the mainstream of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in a colourful passing-out parade and attestation ceremony held at the ITBP grounds here today.

Director, ITBP Academy, and IG Anand Swarup congratulated the newly inducted officers and wished them a bright career in the force. He said the new officers would serve with utmost responsibility and bring laurels to the ITBP and the country. Swarup said ITBP was one of the most outstanding forces in the world that was serving in extreme geographical conditions with utmost integrity and honesty.

The training imparted at the ITBP Academy made trainees able in armed forces tactics so that they could face the challenges before them with utmost skill and ease, he added.

He also administered the oath of office to the newly inducted officers. The ceremonial guard of honour was presented to IG Anand Swarup on the occasion.

The chief guest presented citations and awards to the trainees who excelled during the training period.

Commandant Nimasha Yadav was adjudged the overall best indoor trainee while V Nathuji was adjudged best outdoor trainee. Out of the nine officers, one is from Uttar Pradesh, one from Rajasthan, one from Sikkim, one from Maharashtra, two from Telangana, one from Assam and two belong to Andhra Pradesh.

Commandant, Administration, Manish Kumar gave the vote of thanks in the end. The ceremony concluded with a thrilling karate display by the jawans.
