NIM employees hoist Tricolour at Kedarnath

The 66th Republic Day of India was celebrated with fervour and gaiety at various places in Mussoorie and other parts of the Garhwal region yesterday.

 

The Tricolour was hoisted for the first time at Kedarnath by Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) employees involved in the restoration work at Kedarnath.

 

All NIM workers lined up during the fall-in ceremony and presented a grand salute to the National Flag under the leadership of their section commander and platoon commander.

 

The singing of the National Anthem followed the flag hosting ceremony. Thereafter, the NIM team sought blessings at Kedarnath temple. Sweets were distributed among the workers on behalf of Governor KK Paul. A felicitation message by the CM for the NIM team was also conveyed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Rakesh Sharma, MLA (Kedarnath) Shaila Rani Rawat, Dr. Raghav Langar DM, Rudraprayag, and Barjender Jeet Singh SP, Rudraprayag. Principal, NIM, Col Ajay Kothiyal, extended his greetings on the occasion.

 

Republic Day was celebrated with a parade at Police Lines in Gyansu village in Uttarkashi while schoolchildren presented several patriotic songs and cultural items on the occasion. The MLA, Gangotri, Vijay Pal Sajwan, hoisted the National Flag, at Gyansu and reviewed the parade presented by jawans from the police, ITBP and other wings of the armed forces on the occasion. The students from Aadi Shankracharya Vidya Mandir presented the national song Vandey Matram on the occasion.

 

Zila panchayat president, Uttarkashi, Jasoda Rana, DM, Uttarkashi, Indu Dhar Baudai, SP Jagatram Joshi, zila panchayat vice president Prakash Ramola, zila panchayat member Kuldeep Bisht and others were present.

 

At Mussoorie, Republic Day was celebrated with fervour and gaiety.

 

MLA Mussoorie Ganesh Joshi unfurled the flag at a function in Saraswati Vidya Mandir premises. Ganesh Joshi also felicitated several eminent persons, namely senior citizens association president Ramakant Mishra, social activist Sohan Singh Panwar, Indu Uniyal, GS Manchanda, Ravindar Mani, and CMO, civil hospital, Dr RK Tandon, from Mussoorie for their contribution to society. The newly elected board members from Landour cantonment were also felicitated on the occasion. The BJP local unit president Roop Singh Kathait, vice president Mohan Petwal and others were also present on the occasion.

 

The Tricolour was hoisted at Survey Chowk in the morning where Mussoorie MC president Manmohan Singh Mall, former MLA, Mussoorie, Jot Singh Gunsola and others were present on the occasion. Social activist Sunil Panwar was felicitated for donating blood around 21 times in his career on the occasion.

 

Celebrations at FRI

 

Dehradun: The Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, celebrated Republic Day yesterday.

 

Hoisting the Tri-colour at the main FRI building, Director General of Indian Council of Forest Research Education(ICFRE), Dr Ashwani Kumar, exhorted the employees to pledge for betterment of the society. He said every employee must contribute its best as this ultimately led to nation building.

 

ICFRE and FRI employees, who excelled in 2014 Goa Forest Sports Meet were also felicitated on the occasion. IFS probationers from the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, students from FRI university, ICFRE employees and a large number of schoolchildren were present.
