National president of the Youth Congress and Punjab MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Brar today said some new faces and change in policies for the Congress party was the need of the hour. Addressing media persons at Boul village on way to Mandi, he said the Youth Congress was already mulling bringing in new faces.

Amrinder Singh said the Congress party had a strong leadership in Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, adding that barring Assam, the performance of the Congress was good in other states where elections were held recently. He, however, said there was scope of improvement, for which efforts would be made.

The Youth Congress leader charged that the graph of the Modi-led NDA government had nosedived during the last two years and it had backtracked on all its promises made to the people of the country before coming to power.

Referring to Punjab, Amrinder Singh said the people there were fed up of the Akali-BJP combine and had decided to bring back the Congress party to power. He said the Aam Admi Party would not have any impact on the Punjab polls since the people were aware of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s nature of deceit.

Raja said the BJP would never come to power in Himachal Pradesh since the Congress party was united under the leadership of Virbhadra Singh and people were satisfied with the working of the state government.

Former Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Ram Nath Sharma was also present.
