Natrang Director Balwant Thakur has thanked Governor NN Vohra, who is also the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, for giving the opportunity to the entire theatre fraternity of India to stage select short Dogri plays in Hindi.

Natrang has assured to stage all Dogri short plays translated and published in Hindi by Dogri Sanstha with the support of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

In this context, Natrang presented an emotionally charged performance of a new play, “Sadaandh” in its weekly series — Sunday Theatre. The play, which presented different layers and sub-layers of suppressed emotions, was originally written in Dogri by Prof Madan Mohan, a noted writer, and was aptly translated in Hindi by Chhatarpal, another accomplished figure of Dogri literature. The play was directed by Neeraj Kant and received warm appreciation from the audience. Sanjay Kaul, a professor from Fitchburg State University, US, was the special guest on the occasion.

The play reveals the eternal decay which constantly burns the unsatisfied people slowly but steadily. Most of these people are those who are consuming their lives purposelessly or for just a small purpose. Material gains do not lead to internal peace was glaringly expressed in the play.

Natrang actors who performed in the play included Aishwarya Sathe who presented a well-balanced and soulful performance, she was supported by Shivam Singh, Yash Manhas, Kritika Singh,Meenakshi Bhagat, Rajan Thakyal, Mahikshit Singh and Rishabh Sharma.
