Nainital witnesses record number of tourists

PITHORAGARH: With heat wave conditions prevailing in the plains of the Terai region and pleasant weather in the Kumaon region has attracted a large number of tourists to Nainital this Sunday resulting in packed hotels, boats, taxies, resorts and other amusement means in the town.

With heat wave conditions prevailing in the plains of the Terai region and pleasant weather in the Kumaon region has attracted a large number of tourists to Nainital this Sunday resulting in packed hotels, boats, taxies, resorts and other amusement means in the town.

“The tourist inflow record of the last 20 years has been broken with the town witnessing an unprecedented number of tourists this week,” said Kamal Jagati, owner of a hotel in the town.

According to the manager of the Nainital zoo, a total of 4,065 record number of tourists visited the zoo on Sunday.“It is for the first time we have seen such a big number of tourists in the zoo,” said Manoj Shah, manager of the Nainital zoo.

Hotel owners, boat owners and persons related with the tourism activities have expressed happiness over the inflow of tourists and said they see an opportunity to recover the losses of failed tourist season in 2013 and following years due to disaster effects.
