Mussoorie, March 26

Property dispute between two parties, one from Haryana and one from Mussoorie, took an ugly turn when two persons from Haryana dumped some material at the property site claimed to be owned by the other person from Mussoorie near the lake today.

According to the police, the dispute arose when Ram Meher and Meher Singh, residents of Haryana, entered the property claimed to be owned by Madan Lal Agarwal, a trader resident of Mussoorie, and started dumping construction material without any prior permission.

When asked to remove the material dumped, the two persons from Haryana refused to comply and instead started hurling abuses at Agarwal.

Following that, Agarwal rushed to Mussoorie police station along with the secretary, traders’ association, Javed Khan, local Congress unit president Satish Dhaundiyal and others to register a complaint against the two persons from Haryana, accusing them of threatening to kill him.

The police ended the dispute by summoning the other side and left both parties after they entered into a compromise in the matter. The police summoned both rival sides and warned them not to indulge in such activities in the future. The police also warned both sides to behave or they would be taken into custody.

The property disputes in the area have increased due to the lackadaisical approach of the administration and more such incidents could follow in future if the problem is not addressed soon.
