A women police team today visited Jatheri village to investigate the charges of gang rape with a resident of Narela on February 23, near Murthal on GT road.

A case was registered on February 28 on the basis of a complaint by a woman alleging seven persons from Jatheri village, including her brother-in-law, had raped her during the Jat stir. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

The police said the team recorded the statements of villagers and inquired about the whereabouts of the alleged accused on that day.

The victim had shifted to Gannaur alongwith her husband and children in 2011.


2 held for arson at minster's house 

  • Rohtak: The police have arrested two persons in connection with the case of arson, loot and violence at the residence of Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu. The arrested persons have been identified as Dharmender and Abhishek. 
  • The police had booked 40 persons by name and several unnamed on charges of arson and attempt to murder. 
  • Complainant Rohit Sindhu said a mob not only burnt two houses and several luxury cars parked there, but also attacked police personnel and others. — TNS
