Murder: Cops flayed for delay in FIR

SHIMLA: Vice-president of the Akhil Bhartiya Harijan League Kidar Singh Jindan today charged the police with delaying registration of an FIR in the case of the murder of a Dalit Charan Dass at Maghali village in Rampur tehsil of Shimla district for almost a week.

Vice-president of the Akhil Bhartiya Harijan League Kidar Singh Jindan today charged the police with delaying registration of an FIR in the case of the murder of a Dalit Charan Dass at Maghali village in Rampur tehsil of Shimla district for almost a week. He said the FIR was registered after residents of three villages lodged their protest.

He said the FIR was registered on June 14, six days after the body was recovered from a gorge on June 8.

He said Charan Dass was involved with a woman Asha Devi who was also involved with another person Ramdas. Ramdas and Asha could be the accused but the police were not investigating the matter. He demanded addition of Section 3(2) (V) of the SC and ST (prevention of atrocities) Act 1989 and narco test of both Ramdas and Asha. — TNS
