The UK-based University of Southampton’s Centre for Environmental Studies (CES) has opened applications for the MSc in Environmental Pollution Control degree. The programme offers an in-depth exploration of scientific basics of pollution and the practical approaches to its control. 

Eligibility: Candidates must have a first class or at least a second class upper honours degree in environmental sciences, geography, zoology, oceanography, biology, geology or physics or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the university. Applicants with a first class or at least an upper second-class honours degree in engineering, environmental engineering, civil engineering or mathematics or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the university may also apply.

Doctoral programmes

Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), , Jaipur, has introduced 3-5 year full-time doctoral programme with a multidisciplinary focus in skill related areas such as management, political science & public administration, mathematics, chemistry, English, library science, electrical, mechanical, agriculture horticulture, education, IT & networking and automotive. The research programme leading to award of Ph.D will follow the UGC Guidelines and will be regulated through the detailed regulations for Ph.D awailable on BSDU Website : www.ruj-bsdu.in. Admission to the Ph.D programme will be through the BSDU Entrance Exam for PhD scheduled on December 24, 2017. 

Eligibility: Candidates securing minimum 50 per cent marks in the Entrance Exam will be interviewed by the University Research Committee (URC) and those declared successful will be provisionally registered for Ph.D. Their registration will be confirmed after successful completion of course work worth 8 to 10 credits to be specified by the URC.

The candidate must have a master's degree in the discipline concerned with a minimum of 55 per cent marks from an Indian or foreign university, or a professional degree in a related discipline, certified as equivalent to the master's or MPhil by a competent authority. 

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories and differently abled candidates will be allowed 5 per cent relaxation in the qualifying degree specified in the eligibility conditions as per UGC Guidelines.

Candidates who have passed UGC/CSIR JRF & NET, SLET, GATE or have completed M Phil degree in relevant subject exempted from the written test. They should submit their certificate to this effect and will be called for interview directly.
