In yet another hit-and-run case, a petrol pump attendant was killed after a vehicle hit his motorcycle near the Chandigarh Golf Club here last night.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Lakshman Kumar.

The deceased is survived by his wife and a son. Lakshman used to work at a petrol station in Chandigarh.

Sources said the incident took place late last night when the victim, Lakshman, was going towards Nayagaon to meet his relatives. As soon as he reached near the Golf Club, a rashly driven vehicle hit his two-wheeler.

Passersby informed the police, who rushed the injured to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. An eyewitness told the police that the colour of the car that hit the motorcycle was white. However, the registration number of the vehicle could not be noted down.

A case in this connection has been registered at the Sector 3 police station.
