Content writing is emerging as a popular career option, especially in India. Supporting this fact a recent study by SEMrush revealed that “content writer” was the most searched job option in India. The study revealed that India leads Australia, Canada, US, and UK with maximum share in searching for a ‘content writer’. India clearly showed a great share of 73.87 per cent for content jobs with ‘content writer’ leading the top with an average monthly search volume of more than 26,000. 

Content marketing jobs in other countries contributed with a lower share of 32.24 per cent for Australia, 31.66 per cent for the UK, 30.68 per cent for Canada, and 30.27 per cent for the USA. 

This outstanding position of the content writer job is enhanced by the fact that it is followed by the social media manager and SEO analyst jobs both with the average monthly searches of approximately 2,900 times. 

According to the data of the employers’ requirements mentioned in the job offers, in India, expertise in social media, SEO and research are prioritised in the skill set of the content marketing professionals’ profiles. Talking about the marketing jobs  study, Rohan Ayyar, Regional Marketing Manager India, SEMrush says, “Since ‘Digital India’ and industrial infrastructure have started developing, there has been a rise in the demand for digital marketing specialists”.  — TNS
