Mohinder Singh Randhawa Memorial Lecture tomorrow

The Young Writers’ Association, Punjab Agricultural University, and the Punjabi Sahitya Akademi will organise ‘Dr Mohinder Singh Randhawa Memorial Lecture’, on February 23 at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Auditorium, Student Home, Punjab Agricultural University.

Surjit Patar, a famous Punjabi poet and writer, will be the chief guest and PAU Vice-Chancellor BS Dhillon will preside over the event.

Nahar Singh, a Professor and former Dean, Languages, Punjab University, Chandigarh, will be the guest speaker to shed light on the life and achievements of Dr Randhawa. Dr Nahar Singh will later address the student members of the Young Writers’ Association.

The programme is being organised by Dr RK Dhaliwal, Director, Students Welfare, PAU; Dr Sukhdev Singh, president, Punjabi Sahitya Akademi, Ludhiana; and Dr Surjit Singh, General Secretary, Punjabi Sahitya Akademi. Davinder Dilroop, President, Young Writers’ Association is the event convener.

Books on Punjabi Poetry, ‘Jazbeyaan Da Vahen’ by Dr Pushpinder Singh Rita (Professor and Head, Dept of Plant Pathology, PAU) and ‘Nikkey Nikkey Paer’ by Devinder Dilroop will also be released during the function.

Renowned personalities from the Punjabi cultural arena are expected to take part in the programme. The DSW, Dr R.K. Dhaliwal, has invited all students and litterateurs to attend the memorial lecture.
