An all-round performance helped Mohali beat visitors Ludhiana by nine wickets in the ongoing inter-district U-19 cricket tournament for DP Azad Trophy at DAV School, Sector 8, here today. 

Electing to bat, the hosts bundled out Ludhiana for a paltry 80 runs in 23.4 overs with speedsters Gaurav Bedi (3/13) and Navseerat Singh (3/30) running through the visitors' top-order. Akash Dahri and Taranpreet Singh claimed two wickets apiece.

Needing 81 runs for victory, Mohali scampered home in 10.2 overs with Shubman Gill scoring an unbeaten 51 off 33 balls. Taranpreet Singh remained unbeaten on 26. The two added 70 runs for the second wicket. 

Chandigarh beat Amritsar

Helped by an all-round performance by Raman Bishnoi, visitors Chandigarh beat Amritsar by 14 runs in low scoring match at the Gandhi grounds.

Electing to bat, Chandigarh scored 165 in 39 overs with Raman Bishnoi playing a useful 70-run knock off 91. 

For the hosts, Abhishek Sharma claimed 4 for 47 while Rahul Kashyap bagged 2 for 13. 

In reply, Amritsar were bowled out for 151 runs in 36.5 overs. Abhishek Sharma's 89-ball 88 went in vain as the hosts fell short by 14 runs. Bishnoi (4/30) and Amandeep Singh (2/24) were the most successful bowlers for Chandigarh.

Advantage Patiala 

Patiala rode on opener Jashanpreet Singh's century to beat visitors Jalandhar by 92 runs at Dhruv Pandove Stadium. 

Batting first, Patiala scored 237 runs in 48 overs with Jashanpreet playing a solid 106-run knock. His 126-ball stay at the crease included 14 hits to the fence.  

For Jalandhar, Damandeep Singh (3/38) and Prerit Dutta (3/41) claimed three wickets each. 

In reply, Jalandhar were bowled out for 145 in 39.5 overs. M Markande led the Patiala attack with 4 for 31, while Akul Pandove (2/18) and Gurvinder Singh (2/17) bagged two wickets each. 

The only noticeable contribution for the visitors came through the bat of Arjun Verma (59). 

Patiala has gathered 16 points with four consecutive wins in the tournament.
