Missing Una youth’s body found from Satluj canal

UNA: The body of a 25-year-old youth of Behdala village was today fished out from the Satluj river canal at Ganguwal power station near Anandpur Sahib (Ropar district in Punjab).

The body of a 25-year-old youth of Behdala village was today fished out from the Satluj river canal at Ganguwal power station near Anandpur Sahib (Ropar district in Punjab).

The deceased, identified as Inder Jeet, was reportedly missing for the past few days.

Superintendent of police (SP) Anupam Sharma said the Ropar police had informed them regarding an unidentified body. On the basis of the missing report, the police contacted the parents of the deceased who identified the body. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.

The Superintendent of police said Inder Jeet was last seen on October 21, riding his motorcycle towards Mehatpur which was confirmed from the CCTV footage at the Mehatpur inter-state barrier. His motorcycle was found abandoned near the Satluj reservoir in Nangal three days after he went missing, said the SP.
