Minority welfare schemes reviewed

Uttarakhand Minorities Commission Chairman Narendrajeet Singh Bindra today directed officials to ensure that the beneficiaries gained from various schemes. He was presiding over a meeting held here to review various minority welfare schemes. Bindra in particular referred to scholarships for minority students and other financial assistance schemes for minority communities. 

He sought prompt action on complaints received regarding delay in payment of scholarships. Bindra directed officials to ensure that 15 percent funds under 15-Point Programme were used for minority welfare.

He said, “The procedure to provide financial assistance should be online so that transparency is maintained in all   works and genuine persons are benefited from the welfare schemes.”  

The meeting was attended by officials of the Minority Welfare Department.
