Minor raped, one arrested

Hamirpur, December 3

A minor daughter of a migrant was reportedly raped by a youth near Nadaun yesterday.

It was learnt that the girl had gone to an isolated place for defecation. The accused raped her there and left her in bushes. She told her parents about the incident who took the girl to a hospital and reported the matter to the police. It was learnt that the accused had also forced the girl to eat some drug before committing the crime. The condition of the girl was reportedly stable but was under observation at government hospital, Nadaun. Accused Upender Chaudhry belonged to Bitiya in Bihar has been arrested. The police said the case had been registered and investigation had been initiated in the incident. — OC
