Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today said the government was in the process of procuring much-needed 136 ambulances. Bhagat said these ambulances were being purchased by the funds provided by the Central government under the National Highway Accident Relief Services Scheme.

In response to a question raised by MLA Dina Nath Bhagat regarding the availability of ambulances in various blocks of the Chenani constituency, the minister said two ambulances — one each at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Latti, and PHC, Ghordi, — were working in the area.

While replying to a query regarding the availability of doctors at PHCs in the Chenani constituency, the minister said there were 44 sanctioned posts of regular doctors and 12 posts of National Rural Mission (NRM) doctors. Out of these, 19 regular doctors and seven NRM doctors had been posted in the constituency.
