MIA, ITC log win in cricket

A fine partnership of 81 runs between Bharat Bhushan (70 off 36 balls) and Abhilash Menon (41 off 23 balls) helped Mohali Industries Association (MIA) beat Azzaro XI by 75 runs in the Bharat Kesho Gupta Memorial Cricket Tournament here today. Batting first, Mohali posted 203/3 in 20 overs. Openers Damanpreet (36) and Aman Cheema (26) gave the team a good start but it was the partnership between Bhushan and Menon that helped the side post 202/3 in 20 overs. Sunny Abrol, Siddharth Guglani and Nikhil Sharma claimed one wicket each.  In reply, Azaaro XI were bundled out for 127 runs. Prabhjot (36), Amit Verma (25) and Ravi Dhaliwal (21) were the only batsmen to make significant contributions to the total. In another match, Interstellar Testing Centre (ITC) defeated Satyam Infotech XI by 12 runs. Batting first, ITC scored 150/8 in 20 overs. Rubbal (37), Lakshay Awasthi (24), Jai Kapila (22) and Sumit (22) were the key contributors.

For the bowling side, Rakesh and Amit claimed two wickets each. In reply, Satyam InfoTech were restricted to 138/9 in 20 overs. —TNS
