Breaking last year's record, the summer temperature in Haldwani on Saturday reached 42 degree Celsius, the highest this summer season till date. Poor people were seen looking for cool shelters as the warm winds from westwards started blowing with a velocity of 8.8 km per hour. "The temperature broke the record of the last two years as it was at 42.2 degree Celsius in 2012 and 39.4 degree Celsius and 38.5 degree Celsius in the last two years,respectively," said H.S. Kushwaha, weather scientist at Pantnagar University.
